We got a gift card this Christmas to Watercourse Foods here in Denver and decided to make a date night of it and have a nice meal. Watercourse Foods is a must-visit restaurant for anyone looking for delicious and creative vegan cuisine. This vegan restaurant offers a fresh and innovative take on plant-based comfort food. Located in the heart of Denver, it is a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy a delicious and healthy meal.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is welcoming and warm, with a focus on sustainability and eco-friendliness. The decor is simple yet chic, with wooden accents and green plants and local art scattered throughout the dining room. The open kitchen allows diners to watch their meals being prepared, adding to the overall experience of the meal.
The menu is diverse and constantly changing, reflecting the seasons and the chef’s creative vision. From savory breakfast dishes to hearty lunches and indulgent dinners, there is something for everyone. Dinner is a true feast for the senses. From the flavorful and hearty entrees, like the seitan steak with mashed potatoes and gravy, to the decadent and indulgent desserts, like the vegan tiramisu, every dish is carefully crafted and beautifully presented. The portions are generous, and diners can expect to leave feeling satisfied and full.
In addition to the delicious food, they also offer a carefully curated selection of wines, beers, and cocktails to accompany your meal. Heather decided to try a Zero Proof Cocktail, Blackberry Ginger Punch. Is consists of Dhos n/a gin, ginger simple, blackberry puree, ginger peach tea, lime. A little expensive for a non-alcohol drink but since it was Dry-January why not?
Normally we order one meal and split it but since we had a gift card to use up and we were hungry we decided to order two different meals and try both. Well let’s just say, it was way too much food for us. We ordered the 2 Piece Cauliflower Chicken with the Kale Salad and the Mac + Cheese. Second, we ordered the Cuban sandwich. Shaved marinated seitan, pickles, pepperoncini, mustard, and Monterey jack cheese on a hoagie roll. Served with a side of fries. It all was delicious, I think that I licked the plate clean. I think this Mac + Cheese is one of the best vegan Mac & Cheeses that I have had. Since going to a plant based diet, I have missed a good Mac & Cheese.
After all of this we did not have room for dessert but for those with a sweet tooth, they do also offer a range of delectable dessert options, including classic vegan ice cream and a range of delicious cakes and pastries. Maybe next time.
If you are looking for a delicious and healthy vegan meal in Denver, look no further than Watercourse Foods. With its commitment to sustainability, locally sourced and organic ingredients, and innovative menu, this restaurant is sure to leave a lasting impression. Whether you are a lifelong vegan or simply looking to try something new, it is the perfect place to enjoy a delicious and satisfying meal.
