What better restaurant to try then somewhere that has vegan in the name. Our third spot of the week was The Modern Veganand has the cutest inside decor that is inviting and modern. The extensive menu is full of favorites from breakfast and dinner like Chicken n Waffles to Chicken Parmesan.
We shared the Cauliflower wings with sides of BBQ, buffalo and ranch dip and a chicken parmesan sandwich. All were very tasty but to be honest the parmesan sandwich wasn’t my favorite. I think I haven’t fully grasped the taste of vegan cheese. It is still very waxy to me and I was hoping for a better vegan cheese, I guess. With so many choices it was kinda hard to pick so we choose something we wouldn’t normally have.
The modern vegan had a good take on all the best meat filled meals like BLTs, Rubens or lobster rolls. But with the best vegan twists. I think The Modern Vegan is a great option for the homestyle foods we all know and love.
My only pause is the location and cost of food. Upon arriving the windows were so dark that the restaurant appeared closed and the homeless sleeping on the door step next door was a detour for a minute. But once inside, it’s a beautiful place. The other was the cost. Each meal was at least 20 dollars apiece. Now I know that costs are rising and $20 isn’t much anymore but I just thought it was a little spendy.
