A Day of Fun and Formality on Our Royal Caribbean Cruise
This morning, we enjoyed a bit of extra rest, though I found myself up at 5:30, captivated by the rhythmic sounds of waves caressing the boat. Our coffee arrived a tad late, but once fueled up, we hit the ship’s track for a brisk walk, capturing scenic moments with photos and videos along the way.
Post-exercise, a pitstop at the fitness center treated us to ginger shots and a refreshing fruit smoothie with almond milk. At 10 am, we gathered with our group for a sushi-making class. Donning fun paper hats and gloves, we learned the art of sushi creation, crafting California rolls, fried shrimp, regular shrimp, and spicy tuna hand rolls. The results weren’t as tight as a professional sushi chef, but the experience was delightful. This was one of our cheat days from the plant-based diet that was probably going to be one of many. We have fish or seafood every once in a while.
After our culinary escapade, we explored more of the ship, stumbling upon a lively parade on level 5 featuring ship crew members in pirate-themed costumes. The excitement continued as some of our group ziplined and experienced the thrilling slide 5 to 6 stories down to the deck below where the rock-climbing area was located. From there then watching the performers practicing their daring high dives into the pool added an adrenaline rush to our day.
As early dinner approached, we had to switch to an earlier time for our show for the night, we returned to our rooms to freshen up for the formal night. Meeting at the main dining area, we enjoyed a formal dinner and drinks before heading to The Attic Comedy Club for the Adult Comedy show at 7:30. The comedians entertained, but we were left wanting more.
Post-show, we ventured to level 5 to grab drinks and see what was going on there. We then explored the ship’s top deck, hoping to catch a glimpse of stars and the moon. Unfortunately, the weather played spoilsport, and the clouds and the new moon shrouded the sky. Undeterred, we indulged in mini-golf and watched the daring attempts at the wave machine.
Returning to level 5, we found ourselves amidst an ’80s party night, with energetic attendees sporting ’80s athletic attire and grooving to classic tunes. As fatigue set in, we retreated to our rooms for the night, anticipating tomorrow’s exploration in the port of St. Thomas.
