Our first night in Las Vegas, we tried the first of many vegan restaurants, Panchos Vegan Tacos. After a day trip to Death Valley National Park, we got to Panchos tired and hungry. We were super excited about the 100% percent vegan Mexican food options that we probably let our eyes get bigger than our stomachs. We ordered a three-taco combo with our choice of the Asada, Chick-End and El Pastor taco with beans and rice. And if that wasn’t enough we ordered a small half Chorizo and half Barbacoa fries. Yeah we should of know better than to order all this food but we were hungry remember! And to top it all off an addition of chips and salsa with a delicious Horchata to wash it all down.
The food was amazing! The Chorizo fries were so good, if I make it there again, I’d probably order the Asada fries to try something a little different. It was so good, it reminded me of my old meat eating days when I’d order the beef Carne Asada fries. Everything was really tasty and I would go back for the food again and try some of the other menu items. The only negative thing I’m not sure of is the atmosphere. However, to give Panchos credit they are closing this location and moving to a whole new restaurant next door. So, it’s very possible the sparce decorations of this restaurant was due to their upcoming move. Also, they were out of several food items, but because they planned to close for 3 days, I can understand that.
There was only one thing I really wanted that they didn’t have and that was the pozole soup. Maybe by the end of the week we could go try their new restaurant. If we do make it there we will add to this blog post.
