OMG! I’m in love. We just had the most amazing vegan Vietnamese food, Mama Dut(Permanently closed) in Portland. After watching the Netflix show, Street Food USA which featured Thuy Pham and her family, we quickly added the restaurant to our list and you should too. Mama Dut was totally worth every bite. After a lot of anticipation about finally getting to the very small take-out counter and almost feeling like a stalker to be there when they first opened, it was time to place our order.
But first a very nice welcome and thanks for being there from the staff, an order of the Ryb Banh Mi and a Pork Belly and Pulled Pork Biscuit Sandwich was underway.
After a few pictures, it was time to feast on the deliciousness that sat before us. Upon first bite we were feasting on vegan food heaven. First the Pork Belly Biscuit, it was so big, I wasn’t sure how to take a bite. I’m not sure I have had any food this good in a long time. The food is so good every bite I took, the statement “This is so good” kept coming. Jon was trying the Ryb Banh Mi sandwich and kept saying the same thing, “This is so good.” For dessert we had an Ube Whoopie Pie, delicious of course.
I am beyond excited that we had the chance to eat at Mama Dut and will most definitely be back. I was very thankful that we could be visiting during a day and time the kitchenette was open. Thank you for such amazing vegan food that was the tastiest we have had.
