We were visiting some friends again in Portland and wanted to try out a Thai place known for its vegan options. Recently we have found that Portland, Oregon is known for its vegan food scene and Kati PDX Thai is one of the city’s most popular vegan Thai restaurants.
When we walked in, we were greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant’s decor was authentic and decorated with rustic artwork and accents. We were seated at a cozy table surrounded by the scent of fresh herbs and spices, making us even more excited for our meal. Get there early to get a seat since it seemed to fill up quickly and there is not a lot of space.
We started off with the recommended Nam Khao Tod, Crispy rice with fresh herbs, red & green onions, cilantro, carrot, peanuts, and a twist of lime. Served with lettuce. This is one of their signature dishes that should not be passed up. Next, we ordered the Tom Kha soup, a light coconut base with herbs, galangal, kaffir lime leaves, lemongrass, mushrooms, tomatoes, green onions, and cilantro. Lastly we ordered the Pad Thai with tofu, (minus the egg for us), it was a symphony of flavors, with sweet, savory, and spicy notes all perfectly balanced.
Our friends ordered another noodle meal but for the life of me I can not remember what it was but it looked delicious and they said that it was good. It is one of the noodle stir fry options. If anyone knows what this was and leaves a comment below, I will update the page.
In conclusion, our evening at Kati PDX Thai was an unforgettable experience. It was good to meet up with good friends and try out a new vegan restaurant. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was fantastic. If you are in Portland and looking for some delicious vegan Thai cuisine, be sure to check out Kati PDX Thai. You won’t be disappointed!
