We were heading back towards the airport but needed to find something to eat beforehand. With another quick Google search for vegan restaurants nearby we found a place called Grillbird. They are not a 100% vegan place but have a couple vegan options. This is a to go place only, they don’t have any seating so you order and eat it somewhere else.
We ordered the sesame tofu and cauliflower plate. It’s fried cauliflower and tofu with a sweet sesame and garlic sauce and rice. It comes with a hot chili sauce that we got on the side and it was very spicy. I really liked it, it was a little too spicy for Heather. With the plate you get two sides that you choose.
There are non-vegan options but they also have a couple vegan options that we ordered. The greens, which are baby bok choy in a dark soy glaze and the cucumber salad which are sliced cucumbers in a rice wine vinegar. This dish was delicious! We ordered just one and shared it but, in the end, I wished that we each ordered a plate, but it would have been too much for each. It was a good portion for the price. Since we are going to now be living in the area, near where this place is located, I know we will be here again soon. If you are looking for a good vegan meal this is a must stop place to try.
