St. Augustine, Florida, is one of the oldest cities in the United States, with a rich history spanning more than 450 years. It’s no surprise that the city is known for its paranormal activity and ghost stories. We often like to take a local history or ghost tour when we travel. So, we decided that this was a perfect place to take a ghost tour. If you’re looking for a spooky and exciting way to experience the history of St. Augustine, then Ghost City Tours is the perfect option for you.

They offer a variety of ghost tours, including the “The Ghosts of St. Augustine” tour, “The Telling Elegies Ghost” tour, and the “St. Augustine Haunted Pub Crawl” tour. Each tour provides a unique and spine-chilling experience that is sure to leave you wanting more.

We had the opportunity to take the “The Ghosts of St. Augustine Tour”.  The tour started at the Ghost City Tours on Charlotte Street at 8pm to meet up with our tour guide. Parking can be hard to find and they recommend that you grab an Uber or pedalcab to get there. It’ll save you a big hassle of trying to find parking. The first stop is the entrance to the Castillo de San Marcos, a 17th-century fort that has seen its fair share of battles and bloodshed. Our tour guide immediately set the tone for the evening by sharing stories of the fort’s history and the ghosts that are said to haunt it. Our tour guide recommended for us to take pictures to see if we could get apparitions, we didn’t.

The weather was warm with a slight breeze. It was clear and a sliver of a moon was setting low in the sky. With the moon and the palm trees it reminded me of the South Carolina flag. The humidity was fairly low but we heard it can be brutal during the summer months. We made our way through the dark and winding streets of St. Augustine, our guide continued to share spine-tingling tales of the city’s haunted past. We stopped at several locations along the way, including the Huguenot Cemetery, the city gates, and the Tolomato Cemetery. Each stop was accompanied by some history and a story that gave us insight into the paranormal activity that takes place in these locations.

Throughout the tour, our guide encouraged us to take more photos and try to capture evidence of paranormal activity. While I didn’t capture anything significant, the experience of trying to capture evidence added to the excitement of the evening.

Overall, our experience was unforgettable. The tour was informative, spooky, and entertaining all at once. If you’re looking for a unique way to experience the history of St. Augustine, then I highly recommend taking a ghost tour with Ghost City Tours.

Thanks for wandering with us,
