This place has changed names, but still looks like it has the vegan menu options. It is now called Odie B’s
Denver, known for its picturesque landscapes and vibrant culture, is also home to a culinary scene that caters to all types of food enthusiasts. Nestled within this culinary landscape is Bodega, a cozy and trendy eatery that has become a must-visit for locals and tourists alike. They offer the normal breakfast options along with many plant-based options as well. The other morning, we met up with some friends for breakfast and decided to check out Bodega, and savor their plant-based breakfast options.
When we got there, there was a line out the door almost to the street. We were not sure how all this worked but another customer quickly recommended to grab an open table if there was one available. I found an open table on the patio while Heather got in line to order. Our friends showed up and they joined us at the table and the line. I let Heather just pick something on the menu, figuring that just about anything would be good from there. We ended up sharing the Vegan Hustler Wrap, the Holla Back Banana Bread, and a side of their scrumptious Mixed Bag of Fries. Their menu said that all their options can be made plant-based as well if preferred.
The Vegan Hustler Wrap was very good, in fact I think that if someone just handed this to you, you would not know it was all plant based. I even questioned it myself, but figured that Heather wouldn’t pull that trick on me, would she? The wrap consisted of a wholesome mix of tofu & just egg scramble, house seasoned impossible chorizo, roasted green chiles, tots, vegan cheddar + vegan habanero crema in a flour tortilla. The flavors melded together harmoniously, each ingredient contributing its unique essence to the overall taste. The tofu scramble had a satisfying texture and was seasoned to perfection, offering a protein-packed and savory base. The wrap was neatly encased in a soft tortilla, making it easy to enjoy without a mess. It was truly a triumph of flavors and textures that left me craving more. I was debating on if we should order another one.
No breakfast is complete without a side of something indulgent, and Bodega’s Mixed Bag of Fries fit the bill perfectly. Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, these fries were a testament to the art of frying. The mixed variety included curly, waffle and traditional potato fries, offering a balance of flavors with their Bodega dust. The accompanying fry sauce, we questioned whether that was a vegan version, however it does show it on the plant-based menu.
Heather doesn’t really like banana bread so I was much surprised when she showed up with that. I myself like a good banana bread. This was their griddled house banana bread, maple banana butter and walnut oat crumble. It was absolutely delicious. The moist, tender, and infused with the natural sweetness of ripe bananas, this vegan version was a treat for the senses. The subtle hints of cinnamon and nutmeg added a delightful warmth to each bite. Whether enjoyed as a standalone treat or paired with a cup of their artisanal coffee, the Holla Back Banana Bread was a nostalgic nod to comfort food. I think that I would go back just for that alone.
With our busy schedules, it was great to be able meet up with friends and have a delicious breakfast where we can all get the options that we want. If you find yourself in Denver and seeking a delightful plant-based breakfast experience, Bodega is undoubtedly a destination that will satisfy your taste buds and leave you yearning for more.
