Who We Are?

The couchs

Welcome, we are the Couchs.

At The Wandering Couchs, we are the Couch family, or you might say the Couch’s or Couches—grammar has never been our strong suit, but our passion for exploring the rich histories of cities and towns certainly is.

Throughout our extensive travels, we’ve always been captivated by the stories behind the urban landscapes we’ve encountered. Whether it’s the towering skyscrapers that now grace the skyline or the remnants of long-forgotten structures, we’ve sought to delve into the historical narratives that have shaped these places.

We’ve embarked on hop-on-hop-off bus tours, strolled through engaging walking tours, and even hopped onto Duck tours to explore downtown areas. It’s been a delight to listen to tour guides who can vividly paint pictures of bygone eras, and we’ve encountered both exceptional guides and those who might have considered a career change.

The idea of The Wandering Couchs History Blog was born out of a desire to enhance your exploration of these places. Imagine being able to access historical details, images, and captivating stories right at your fingertips through your trusty cell phone while standing at these very locations. We’ve spent countless hours sifting through old photos, historical postcards, and fascinating history facts to bring you the most intriguing and relevant insights.

If something piqued our interest, we believed there must be many others who share our curiosity. We’re excited to share our discoveries and bring history to life for you.

We hope you enjoy the journey with us. If you have any suggestions, comments, questions, or spot any errors (we’re sure there are a few), please don’t hesitate to let us know.

Thank you for wandering with us,
