Colorado Road Trip, 2022

Sept 1-11, 2022

Let the Epic Colorado road trip begin.  After at least a year of planning our camping adventure, the time has finally come to hook up and head out. Our road trip/camping adventure was going to lead us west thru the vineyards and peach trees of Palisade into the high plateaus of Grand Junction and the Colorado National Monument.  Winding south we will venture into the some of the steepest cliffs, oldest rock and jagged spires at Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. But, that’s not all to see and do during this week of our southwest Colorado adventure. Next up, Ouray, The Switzerland of America. This high alpine town setting at 7,800 feet is just a stepping stone to extreme mountain adventure. However, we are now only half way thru the week and as we continue to head south, stops to mining towns and hot springs are still waiting to be explored. Because this week is so full of wander, we will be breaking down each destination. If we didn’t, the blog post would be like 20 pages.

So, let’s go wandering to Southwestern Colorado.

Colorado is a magnificent state.  It has been such a great 12 days wandering through this beautiful landscape of Mountains, High plains, Rivers and Gorges.  From Aspen trees to Pine trees with sands and sagebrush in between, anything you are looking to find, you will find in Colorado.

Get out and explore where you live.  You might be amazed to find what is hiding right in your backyard or a short drive away.  In Colorado you can visit several National Parks full of History from the Ute Indians to the Alpine Tundra.  You can see where Glaciers carved out the earth to form majestic Gorges and Valleys.  You can enjoy vineyards to fruit farms and hot springs to cold river plunges.  Whatever you enjoy you will be sure to find it in Colorado.

If you have read through our adventures this whole week, thank you and please wander with us again in the future.  Follow us on Instagram and be sure to check out the art on Etsy (coming soon) or Society 6.

Thanks for wandering with us,
