We decided to go out and explore the Bellevue area since we have not been over that way much, if at all. We took a walk around their Bellevue Downtown Park, which is a circle walk that’s .4 of a mile around once. After a loop we wandered down towards Main Street to look at a few shops. On our walk back to the car, the word vegan ice cream caught my eye in a window, so we stopped at Molly Moon’s Ice Cream to check it out. Known for their creative, locally sourced flavors, this iconic ice cream shop doesn’t shy away from catering to vegan and dairy-free dessert lovers.
After a little debate whether ice cream was a good idea on a cold January day, for me ice cream is always a good idea. We decided to sample two of their standout vegan flavors: Vegan Golden Milk and Vegan Salted Caramel.
The Vegan Golden Milk was a luxurious blend of earthy turmeric, warming spices like cinnamon, and a touch of sweetness that gives it a chai-like vibe. Reminded me of the same flavors of a cup of warm Golden Milk, except cold, and solid, and you eat with a spoon. The flavor was both comforting and adventurous, perfect for those who love a little spice in their life. The creamy coconut milk base ties everything together, making every bite feel like a silky indulgence.
Next, the Vegan Salted Caramel. With the perfect balance of sweet and salty, this flavor is an ode to the caramel lovers of the world. The caramel’s deep, rich notes are enhanced by just the right hint of sea salt, creating a flavor that’s indulgent without being overpowering. It’s a classic reimagined for the plant-based crowd, and it did not disappoint. I think what would have put this on a next level would have been some swirled vegan caramel in the ice cream. Hmm? Is vegan caramel even a thing? I don’t know.
The Bellevue Molly Moon’s shop itself is charming and welcoming, with a modern vibe and friendly staff eager to help you pick your perfect scoop. It’s a great spot for a solo treat, a date night, or a family outing. Whether you’re vegan, plant-based or just curious to try something different, Molly Moon’s has something delightful waiting for you. The Golden Milk and Salted Caramel flavors are a testament to their ability to craft innovative ice cream that everyone can enjoy. Next time you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by, you won’t regret it! Even if it’s a cold January day!
