Floralia in Honolulu offered a delightful experience with their vegan pizza! We decided to venture out of the downtown Honolulu area past the Ala Moana Mall. We found that the bus went from the front of our hotel and right by where we were going. It was a fairly quick 15 to 20-minute ride. Located near a stack of shipping containers Floralia has a cute outdoor and indoor seating area. If the weather is rough you could sit indoors. They have an outdoor wood-fired pizza oven and a cool-looking bus that has been converted into their pizza-making kitchen. The ambiance was welcoming and vibrant, perfect for a casual outing, they had just opened at 4:30 pm but they were already filling up quickly.
This place is 100% plant-based so everything is an option for us on this menu. They had about 8 to 10 different styles of pizza, so we went with the Pesto Royal. It had basil pesto, goat cheese, sausage, and marinated peppers. All 100% plant-based. We also got a Caesar Salad, romaine, Caesar dressing, pangrattato, and seasonal fruit, which tonight was pomegranate seeds. The vegan pizza stood out with its perfectly wood-fired crisp crust, flavorful toppings, and a well-balanced combination of fresh ingredients. Each bite was bursting with taste, highlighting the care and creativity that went into crafting the dish. One thing that we would have liked better is if the crust was just a little thicker. It tasted great but if you tried to pick it up all the toppings would slide right off. The salad was very good too, it had a good Caesar flavor and was cheesy. We asked for a lemon to squeeze a little lemon juice on it but they didn’t have any. That would have topped this salad off but it was still very good.
After licking the plates clean, the waitress asked if we would like dessert. Normally we pass on dessert unless it’s a 100% vegan cheesecake. I love regular cheesecake and it is very hard to find a good plant-based version. Tonight, they had a chocolate caramel cheesecake, how could we pass that up? This was absolutely delicious! If you were to only come here for one thing, get the cheesecake! We would come back to try all the stuff on the menu. Next time we are in town we may have to try a different pizza and definitely some more cheesecake.
Whether you’re a local or just visiting, Floralia is a must-try spot for anyone seeking quality vegan options in Honolulu.
