Plum Bistro In Capitol Hill: The Ultimate Cozy Vegan Brunch Experience You Can’t Miss

My cousin and her husband live here in the Capitol Hill area of Seattle. They offered to meet up for brunch at a place near them called Plum Bistro. Proclaimed as Capitol Hill’s most-loved vegan restaurant since 2009. This was, in fact, one of the places that Heather had marked for us to try.  What better time than now!

We got there on an early Saturday morning just as they were opening. They have a warm and inviting atmosphere with chic, modern décor. Its cozy seating arrangements create the perfect setting for a leisurely brunch. Large windows allow natural light to flood the space, enhancing the dining experience. Actually, these windows are big rollup doors and this morning they were open to the outside, giving you the feeling of sitting outside on the patio.

Since we were one of the first here, we were able to get a table right away. My cousin ordered the Salted Caramel Apple French Toast, made with Brûlée’d green apples, salted caramel sauce, whipped coconut cheesecake butter, and maple syrup. Her husband ordered the Lets hash it out, Skillet mushrooms, fried onions, tofu bacon crumble, chopped potatoes, and sweet peppers, topped with fried eggs and served with avocado toast. Heather and I shared the Chick’n & Waffles, Chick’n fried seitan, country gravy, waffles, whipped butter, and maple syrup. Along with a side of Mac & Yease, Their famous plant-loving macaroni and cheese.

All this came out fairly quickly and looked delicious. The Chick’n & Waffles were very good, the seitan was deep-fried and crispy. The Mac & Yease was delicious, but I wished they had a little more macaroni mixed in.  I tried a bite of my cousin’s Salted Carmel Apple French Toast which was very good but a little too sweet for me. We didn’t try her husband’s hash, but it too looked delicious and he said it was very good.

Beyond the fantastic food, Plum Bistro is committed to sustainability. Their emphasis on organic, locally sourced ingredients and eco-friendly practices makes dining here a feel-good experience for both the palate and the planet. I hear that it can be hard to get into sometimes so make sure that you plan accordingly. They do make reservations but it has to be for six or more, so bring your friends. One other thing is we felt that their prices are a little high. We will be back, probably not a lot, but the food is all vegan and delicious.

Thanks for wandering with us,
